Empowering Women Over 30 To Naturally Enrich Their Metabolic Health

About You

Can You Relate To Any Of These Scenarios?

  • It’s 3pm and like clockwork, you notice that you suddenly feel tired, sluggish, irritated, and ready for bed.

  • You’ve tried everything and yet the scale still won’t budge. This can sometimes make you feel hopelessly frustrated.

  • Your lab work is “normal” but you know you should be feeling better. Right?

  • Your hormones are a hot mess and you don’t even know where to begin to balance them.

  • All day long you dream about going to bed, but when it’s finally bedtime you suddenly have a burst of energy and can’t fall asleep.

  • You have chronic inflammation and pain that is preventing you from living life on your terms.

  • You’re exasperated by the overwhelming amount of seemingly conflicting “health” information everywhere, making you wonder how on earth you are supposed to eat, sleep, and move your body in the “correct” way.

Most people think of metabolism as simply the body's ability to burn calories and maintain a healthy weight. However, metabolism encompasses all the metabolic pathways that influence not only the rate of energy expenditure but also overall health. As we age, we each experience a subtle and gradual shift in our metabolic processes, often without realizing its impact on our lives. We may notice slight changes in the mirror and attribute them to "ordinary" aging. However, recent studies reveal that 150 million Americans are dealing with metabolic dysfunction, contributing to a growing epidemic of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other serious health issues.

What Makes Us different

Patient-centered care

A comprehensive approach to health, such as naturopathic medicine, considers both internal and external factors impacting well-being, unlike traditional medicine which often targets only surface symptoms. Naturopathic Doctor Brandon Drabek exemplifies this method by creating personalized holistic care plans that address nutritional, physical, and emotional wellness. Naturopathy views individuals as whole beings, identifying and treating underlying factors contributing to health issues with complementary therapies, ultimately improving overall health and sustaining long-term wellness.

Initial Consultation

During your initial consultation with Naturopathic Doctor Brandon Drabek for metabolic health, expect a 90-minute to 2-hour appointment. You'll complete an Intake Questionnaire and Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) beforehand. Dr. Drabek will discuss your health history, goals, nutrition, and recommend relevant laboratory tests. Based on your intake assessment and laboratory tests, he’ll propose a personalized care plan that may include nutrition, supplements, herbal medicine, and other naturopathic therapies. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your progress and adjust your plan as needed.

Follow-up Consultation

Naturopathic Doctor Brandon Drabek will work together with you to create a personalized follow-up schedule tailored to your specific needs and progress, typically ranging from every 4 to 12 weeks. Initially, appointments may be more frequent to closely monitor and optimize your health, gradually extending the intervals as your condition improves. Following the Initial Consultation, you will be assigned a level of care—Essential, Progressive, or Comprehensive—based on your needs. Each visit, lasting approximately 90 minutes, will focus on identifying primary imbalances and recommending strategies to enhance specific systems or tissues. Depending on your level of care, your visit may include discussions on foundational habits, body composition and physical assessments, systems review, biofeedback wellness screening, high sensitivity urinalysis, nutritional microscopy, food sensitivity assessment, and a review of lab work. Your health plan will be updated with personalized foods, herbal therapies, and lifestyle recommendations, and meal plans.

Phlebotomy services

Phlebotomy Services will be available in September of 2024 pending licensing. Phlebotomy is the process of making a puncture in a vein, usually in the arm, with a cannula for the purpose of drawing blood. The procedure itself is known as a venipuncture. Reviews

What our patients say about us

Brandon was able to help me get off of prescription anxiety medication with my medical doctor. I no longer suffer from the grasp of anxiety as I did before, and I owe that to him. If anxiety does start to creep in, he has taught me how to manage it instead of cover it up. I have referred him to many of my family members who are all also having great results

Kim B.

Brandon is my 'go to' person...His approach is very far from conventional medicine and I like it. Instead of managing symptoms he is looking for the underlying cause of health problems and how to restore the body to a state of balance. His bodywork is gentle and very satisfying. And he always smiles.

Joanna R.

I enjoyed my visit with Brandon...He was very professional and understood my needs. He spent extra time with me going over my needs and explaining clearly what he was doing by his testing methods. I felt very comfortable with his procedures and have scheduled another appointment. I will recommend him to anyone that is interested...

FAQ

Frequently
Asked
Questions

  • If this works, wouldn't my medical physician know about it?
Allopathic medicine operates out of a completely different paradigm than naturopathic medicine. Allopathic medicine focuses on the name of the disease and implements a one-size-fits-all approach that centers around symptom management and pharmaceutical drugs. This is fine for acute care or emergency interventions to help you feel better in a traumatic or life-threatening situation. However, in long-term chronic care circumstances, treating a disease through symptom management never leads to true healing and can often end up exacerbating the problem. In stark contrast, naturopathic health is more focused on uncovering the root causes of your health issues and providing a personalized plan to correct them and help you actually get better. We help coach up your adaptive physiology by treating the entire body as a whole, integrated unit that has the ability to self-heal once it is properly balanced and provided with the correct inputs. We also believe that there is a time and place for intelligent allopathy, and will recommend it accordingly if we feel it’s necessary.
  • Isn't Naturopathic Medicine expensive?
This is the biggest misconception about naturopathic medicine - primarily because we’ve been conditioned to expect insurance to pay for everything. In doing so, we have unwittingly ceded control of our wellness over to the lowest bidder - at the expense of our health. In reality, functional medicine is the most affordable form of healthcare on the planet, especially when you consider that the average person spends more money in their lifetime in the allopathic model managing a disease or illness without ever truly healing. Thankfully, some forward-thinking insurance companies and governments are now running pilot projects to demonstrate the significant cost savings to both patients and healthcare systems using a naturopathic medicine model, while at the same time helping participants achieve increased positive health outcomes. Sometimes the true cost of services being rendered isn’t just measured in dollars and cents, and just because something is covered by your insurance company does not make it cheaper. We’re proud of the fact that the average patient saves thousands of dollars each year in medical expenses, while at the same time learning a liberating life skill that can be taught to their children and loved ones. When choosing a healthcare provider, it’s important to look beyond the cost of something, and instead consider its value. In this manner, naturopathic healthcare wins every time.
  • Do you accept health insurance?
At this time, we do not accept commercial insurance. However, we do accept HSA/FSA cards. This allows us to keep our fees affordable and your care centered around you! Care that is driven by financial reimbursement (health insurance) is not designed to solve a problem, it's designed to continue the cycle of reimbursement. Value-based care breaks that cycle and enables us to get creative in care for our clients, leading to better outcomes and lower costs.
  • What is Dr. Brandon's payment policy for consultations?
All patients are required to pay the consultation fee on the day of their appointment. For in-person and virtual consultations, payment can be made immediately after your meeting with the doctor. We need a card on file, which will be charged once your consult ends. If you need to update your payment method, please call our office or update your billing options in your electronic health record before your consultation.
  • How are natural medicines different from pharmaceuticals?
Prescription drugs often treat symptoms rather than the root cause of an illness. Symptoms indicate that something is wrong in the body. Naturopathic physicians believe that natural methods can address most health issues. Even when prescription medications claim to target the root cause, they often don't fully reverse the underlying physiological problem. Naturopathic medicine seeks to restore health by correcting these imbalances through diet, lifestyle changes, nutrition, herbal medicine, stress management, and social connection. If you're looking for more natural approaches to your health, these treatments may be right for you.
  • Are there any side effects with natural medicines?
Individuals often turn to natural remedies due to intolerable side effects from prescription medications. Dr. Brandon views these side effects as disruptions in normal bodily functions caused by the drugs. Naturopathic medicines aim to restore these functions, leading to fewer side effects. Herbal medicines may have some side effects, but they are generally milder than those from conventional drugs. Dr. Brandon calls these "side benefits," as patients often see improvements in other symptoms. Treating one drug's side effects with another can further disrupt the body's balance, complicating recovery.
